In the time we had between leaving Cambodia and going to the Philippines we stayed in Bangkok for about one week. In this time we had several ministry opportunities to choose from.

The Well is a ministry that a husband and wife established about three years ago. Their focus is on the red light district of Bangkok. There are hundreds upon hundreds of bars all around the Bangkok area. They go into the bars, with the help from volunteers and mission groups, to talk to the girls and show them love in a way they have never experienced. After several times of going into the same bars, and forming relationships with the young girls, they have them come visit the center. In the centers-they have three at this time-they teach the girls how to make jewelry, hand-made greeting cards, bags and purses, doing hair and nails. The girls are allowed to live there, and they make their living of the beautiful goods they make by hand and the amazing pampered services they provide. The Well is a safe refuge for these girls that have been subjected the most horrific life style. The centers are a place they can go and find love and acceptance. When you go in you are greeting with nothing but smiles from the most beautiful young girls you will ever see. You look at them and think how could anyone degrade them in such a way that they could never feel quite whole again. But then you look at their faces, and you hear their stories, and they have been saved by the only One that can make them whole again-they have gotten the chance to start their lives over with a pure heart and a restored body.

I got the wonderful blessing of being able to spend two days with them at the center. Helping them make jewelry and listening to their stories, and getting to know my new sisters in Christ. Their hearts and minds have been made pure, and they humbly shine the bright light of Christ. They are full of joy that you can only receive from the Lord. I now have six amazing sisters that I am very thankful for. While we were there we gave them new names: Joy, Faith, Grace, Ruth, Esther and Hope. They gave me a Thai name-Fon which means rain.

There is one girl at the center that is raising money to be able to join the YWAM DTS program. She needs to raise about $2,000 within the next two months. She has already been accepted into the program, and now she is waiting for the Lord to provide the funds. For security reasons I can not disclose any information about her, but if you would like to know more about how you can support her please email me.
