After a 10 hour flight from Joburg to Zurich, and off to Spain, we landed in Madrid at about 9am.

This is where the fun began.

A day and a half in Spain…what’s a girl to do?

The first thing we did was eat amazing food! AMAZING cheese, bread and beverages!

Then we ventured off into the city. We walked along the beautiful narrow streets. Surrounded by old buildings, flowers, green grass, the sound of spanish ringing in my ears. Everything about it was beautiful! I couldn’t believe I was there. The whole time I felt as if I was in a movie.

We got to go to a Picasso exhibit. It was strangely beautiful-or beautifully strange-depending on how you look at it. The experience was unlike any I’ve ever had. It was a surreal moment in my life. 4 stories of nothing but Picasso work. amazing.

Later that day me, Pam and Krystle walked to a beautiful palace. On our way we went into several little shops along the road, and took in every smell and sound. The palace was amazing…just like everything else.

After the palace we walked some more, and took more pictures. Then ate some more amazing food. And saw a beautiful sunset.

And of course we had to get lost in Spain. We started walking back to our hostle around 9pm, and what should have been a 20 minute walk, we made it back around 11pm. But it’s a great way to see more of the city.

After a good night sleep in Madrid I woke up and went on a walk to a beautiful park. Krystle and I walked around and found it to be breathtaking. Once again we ate amazing food-then off to the airport to head to Costa Rica.

I was only there for a day and a half, and I loved every second of it. This is on the top of my list for the best things I have ever done-right up there with the Great Wall of China.

I have 209 pictures from Madrid. If you want to see all of them you can visit my snapfish site.
