He’s been so good, so, so good to me;
so good, so, so good to me
So good, so, so good to me, Jesus*

That is the song (So Good to Me by Cory Asbury) that I feel asleep humming last night and that immediately hit my lips this morning when I woke up. It’s overwhelming my Spirit and I can’t hold it in. I was singing it thru Target, shouting it out the windows when driving through the Edison nieghoborhood with a roommate, and feeling the rhythm in my feet.

I waited patiently upon the Lord, but He inclined and heard my cry
He pulled me up out of the miry clay
He set my feet upon the Rock
He gave me beauty for ashes and joy for my mourning
And praise for heaviness
He put a new song in my mouth and a crown upon my head
He gave me life forevermore

Not just eternally but in this current season. Yes I am still in it, but I just felt like I needed to brag about the Lord today. Let this breathe faith into the areas of your life that are running low today.

Time to brag…

  • Before I left Flushing, MI there was a co-worker who was struggling and didn't have food and I didn't have the means to provide. On my way out to a chiropracter appointment I was just talking to God wishing I could provide, trying to figure out what I could do. After my appointment my chiropracter said, "I hope you don't feel weird about this but I have two boxes of food for you. I hope you can use it in some way, I just felt like I was supposed to pack these things and bring them to you." Are you kidding me? YES! Within 15 minutes, the prayer was answered. He provided through the Body.
  • Also in Flushing, a computer was the only thing keeping a co-worker from going to nursing school. When I heard this I knew I was supposed to give her my extra. There is no reason I need 2 when someone didn't even have 1. The only problem….mine wasn't working, the power cord was mia. Before any concern could enter (and without him knowing the computer problem) my dad texted me to say he had an extra one she could use and would have ready for her. Seriously? (Yes because my mom and dad are amazing and have taught me how to live with hands open to bless others)

Both times I wanted to provide and wasn't able to, but GOD wanted to provide for His child, so He made a way.
Note: don't let means stop you from giving, pray and ask, He just needs a willing heart and body. "If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" Matthew 7:11

As for Kalamazoo, there are ENDLESS moments and provision I could brag about, here are a few that are coming to mind:

  • At least 1 meal every day for the past 5 days has been provided by God. Someone taking me out, cooking, or giving me zucchini for my favorite spaghetti. Always providing! Still yet to go hungry.
  • I have a ride to Seminary most Fridays through a friend who works there and lives in Kalamazoo. Oh and did I mention he and his wife live about 4 blocks away? Right.
  • Yesterday a friend called to ask if she could drive me to Grand Rapids this Friday to bless me and spend time with me in the car. Who does that? YES quality time and provision!
  • As I felt homesick for the nations, I met a family from the Philippines who are missionaries there and invited me to come visit anytime.
  • I was given a financial gift that provided what I needed to finish setting up my room. Now everything has a place and there is order to my life, THANK YOU!
  • I had specific 1-on-1 time ‘randomly’ with each one of my roommates yesterday. If you know me, that speaks to my heart dearly!
  • I was given a precious gift of a shiny bracelet by a friend who spoke into my identity and breathed so much encouragment into me.
  • I have been on my face broken for this city and for people lately as God draws me in and continus to refine and mold my heart. Yes please! Intimate time with the Father. Thankful for this, you don't always get this in every season.
  • One roommate selflessly has allowed me to use her car to go to school and to the store – 'whatever is mine its yours,' THAT is living with your hands wide open in community.
  • I was able to talk to a friend who is currently serving in Haiti via internet 🙂 and she just blesses my life.
  • Conversation with Alicia Hodges (WR buddy) need I say more.
  • I came home today and was surprised with a love note, drawing, and cd full of music today.
  • And I could continue…

Yes I am stilling waiting on some promises, but that doesn't change God's goodness.

I am NOT without!

In a season where my financial statement and circumstance would look like it to the USA world, I consider myself rich. I'm being taken deeper into the fullness and richness of the Lord and Him being my daily bread. Yes as I said in the blog before, it can be hard, but it is SOOOO good at the same time.

You picked me up and turned me around
And placed my feet on the solid ground
Hallelujah, hallelujah

SING IT….I’ve got love, joy, peace and righteousness in the Holy Spirit.

No matter how my days go, I’ve got you and pray these words are what fall off my lips in every season.

How do you want to brag about the Lord?
Comment below, let's see His goodness all over the page!

P.S. THANK YOU to the community around me, I have been richly blessed by you!
