On the Road Again……
We are driving right now…..
We are driving along the Mozambiqan countryside. Something
we have been doing for about 12 hours at this point. But I’m not board of it,
it is breathtaking. It is lush, it is green, it is beautiful! I am overwhelmed
thinking of the God who created it all. I look at the mountains that are
cracked and shaped from many years of weather and erosion and am in awe of
their beatuy and age. I think about what they looked like at the beginning of
creation (yes I am crazy and think like this often 🙂). God created the mountains,
the trees, the streams. He created the colors zipping by that are beaming and being
highlighted by the sun. Mountains with clouds covering the tops, crops lining
the fields, sunsets that fill the sky with colors you have never seen, all are
majestic and mighty! All are being taken in as we drive. They are all the
handiwork of our Father. He is SO big! And creation groans for Him.
But that isn’t the only groaning I can see and feel.
God groans for his people too.
Ever since we crossed
the border into Mozambique I have felt God’s heart cry for this country, this
land, and these people.
He cries out…
He cries out for the men and women who are hungry, who are
hurting, who feel unloved, and unknown. He cries out for the children and
widows who have lost a parent or spouse. He cries out for the children born
with HIV. He cries out for the sexual culture that breeds HIV and other
infections. He cries out for those searching and longing to fill the void that
only He can fill. He cries out for each individual living in this country.
I feel His heart cry and it is overwhelming.
He knows each person by name.
He knows their story.
He knows what their heart longs for.
He knows what they are praying for.
He knows the plans He has for them.
Do they? Are they
aware of Him? Do they hear his voice?
My heart yearns for them to know Him. It aches for them to
meet their creater. It leaps for joy at the thought of worshiping among my
brothers and sisters in this country. I pray for all the converstoins I will
have this month. I have no idea what is in store but I know God’s heart in this
moment. Do they hear him? Do they know him? These are my thoughts…..
What about you….
Do you know God?
Are you aware of Him?
Do you hear his voice?
Do you realize that his heart is crying
out for you as well? He knows your name. He knit you together in your mothers
womb. When you were still in her belly, He knew the plans he had for you. He
knows every word you speak, every thought you have. He knows when you go to bed
and when you rise. He is there all throughout your night loving you waiting for
your first words when you rise.
He wants to hear your voice.
He wants you to know that He hears you.
He cares for you.
He loves you.
He cries out for you.
