There are many beautiful children here at Door of Hope….really
all of them are amazing. But as we all know you can be drawn to a certain few…favorites….and
I have been. I have been blessed though and have been able to work in almost
all of the departments so these babies range from the age of 4 months to 4 years
old. Since I’ve spent the last 3 weeks with these incredibly special little
ones I thought I would introduce you to them in a way that I can ” by their
nicknames and a fun story. So without further ado….

Puker
So when I met this little one they were puking up most of their formula after every
meal. I was asked to feed them and I kind of cringed because I didn’t want to
get puked on (little did I know that would become my trademark) but I did
anyways. I was moved with such compassion for them because I had just spent the
last week not feeling well and throwing up that I couldn’t imagine it all day
long. And so my cuddling and “lets make a deal began. I would “make a deal
that if I held them they wouldn’t puke. That didn’t work, but our bond began to
grow. Now we are buds. Anytime I walk by, say hello, or hold them my heart
melts as they flash a priceless smile. AND as I’ve prayed for healing for them,
the Lord has been faithful. The throwing up decreased within 3 days of being
here and they have continually improved. Thank you Jesus for your healing! They
are healed of the Lord and I speak it over them every day. And thus a name
change is in order…..how about Flirty. 🙂

Gas Station
This little one is solid. Thick thighs, a solid and firm belly, and rolls all
over….but they are so cute! And you guessed it, they are known for their gas. I
have a way of bringing out the best in people and theirs is their gas. When
eating their bottle they just toot away as if its no big deal! And when it
comes to burping contests, they have only lost a few times, they are a champ!
And when you call them gas station they just giggle giggle giggle, again
another priceless moment.

Little Dude
Oh mercy is he cute!!! I just adore this little dude. He and I have had some
good time working on sitting up and celebrating our victories! But one day we
went outside to swing and I felt like he was having a day of victory and life.
He doesn’t have a ton of movement in stiff limbs yet but as I laid him on a swing and pushed
him back and forth his smile and giggles overwhelmed the air. As the sun shown
down on him and the wind swept over his body, life just exploded within his
body!

Big Sis
Big Sis and I have had some good times together. We have many fun chats via noises and the moving of our hands. We even had a day of beauty treatments this week. She kind of watches over the orphanage and
I feel is the eyes and ears of the place. I’ve had quite a few dreams with her
in them, a way for her to communicate with us.

Sweet Lady
This little girl is so beautiful!  She is always smiling and just has a sweet sweet soul. Every time you pick her up her face just lights up and she smiles at you. She makes you feel very special in this way. She is a breath of fresh air but has very strong lungs that let you know when its time to eat. She is a treasure. 🙂

Mr. Mischievous
This little guy is an investigator. He was the second to oldest until a recent
adoption and now he is the oldest baby in the big baby area and he loving it.
He loves to crawl over all the other babies, steal their bottles, and just make
a little trouble. But he also likes to cuddle, read books, and watch cars drive
by. We like to play ball with one another and practice walking when I find a
time he is not crawling all over the place. He is Mr. Mischievous.

So those are a few of my special ones. I obvioulsy love
them all, but my heart is tugged with these little ones. I will have a hard
time leaving in just a few days but I look forward to them each moving on to a “forever
family who can cherish these moments and foster more! I pray every day for
their families and for their future. God has some big callings for these little
ones and I’ve been blessed to be a part of loving them.
