3 Months Silent….
And then a PEEP….
Is it Megan? Really?
YUPPERS!! It is me!
3 Months silent and now where to begin? I honestly have no
idea friends. BUT I have to begin somewhere, so hang with me and we will see where God takes this together……
Over the past 3 months I’ve been to the Philippines, China,
South Africa, and tomorrow I leave for Mozambique.
I’ve been to dump sites and
graveyards where people live,
I’ve been to orphanages where children are
starving to death, I’ve been on streets with the homeless,
visited temples
barren with idol worship,
lived amongst segregation and hatred, and will soon
be in a country that is still desolate from a civil war that plagued their
country only 18 short years ago.
I’ve seen a new level of pain, despair, captivity, bondage, and
suffering.
I’ve held dying children. I’ve been starred at thru the eyes of the
desperate and empty.
I’ve been to some pretty dark places. I would say darker
than my first race.
But you know what I’ve been reminded in all of them?
That we are made for the dark places.
We are made to radiate God’s light and love. We are his beauty and light rays.
We’ve been
created not to run in fear from pain or despair or avoid it, but we are here to carry the Jesus that is
inside of us into these dark places. To listen, to love, to hear those he puts
in our paths.
To be the smile, the touch, or the laughter that changes someone’s
day.
To speak in dignity and love to one another, no matter the economic status,
shape, size, or color. To SEE each other and not just walk by one another.
How we as humans determine the value of a fellow person’s
life astounds me! To dump my trash on someone else infuriates me! To determine
who is worthy to get food and who isn’t wrecks me.
My heart cries out and longs for heaven even more after
these past 3 months.
And so with that longing I pick up my inheritance and join in being a part of
bringing heaven to this earth. I get to bring the Kingdom to the place God has
planted me. Today its Nelspruit, South Africa. Tomorrow it will be Maputo,
Mozambique.
We don’t have to wait for heaven my friends.
We are the Kingdom.
Heaven is here.
