Today my love for the girls we work with grew immensely. This month we are working at an orphanage for women who have outgrown governmental orphanages (over 18 years old) and who are mentally and/or physically disabled.

Each day I have been praying for an increase in love for the women at the home and today I felt it. I
walked in differently. I walked in this morning with the Lord’s love as my
foundation and anchor. I felt Him as my strength and not my physical flesh. And
to some extent I needed God’s love because today I seemed to always have a girl
on my side. But it was a joy. Today I was able to look at these women and just
smile and love them. I know it seems like Ive been doing this all month but
today was different. Today I had the joy of the Lord with me. A few precious
moments to me were….

  • When Florintina who doesn’t like to be touched that much came and sat next to me during Bible study. I started rubbing her back and then stopped for a moment. She gently and sweetly turned adjusting her entire back towards me inviting me to scratch it, haha…I then scratched it for the entire hour of the study. Thank you Lord for letting me in to her life!
  • When Marina held my hand during prayer and just rubbed it speaking love and life to me.
  •
  • Teaching Vicki to read the song “I’m trading my sorrows” in English!
  • When Vicki took me to her room to show me the bible verses she
wrote out in English. She then read them to me and then showed me the verses
she has memorized in Romanian and taught me those. This was probably my
favorite moment of the entire day.
  • When Vicki gave me her Romanian/English Bible which ended up being her
roommates Christina who has an injured leg and can’t walk smoothly on it. My prayer all month had been for an opporunity to pray for Christina and God brought it. As I stood in their room with them praying for them they couldn’t understand me but it didn’t matter because God could and God was rejoicing over these beautiful women!
  • When my new friend Romona came into play today and was just snuggling up, holding my hand, and leading my
    around the compound all day.

  • When Asia was her normal fun loving self, joking and loving on me. Smiling and giving me hugs. 🙂

  • When I was able to play a game with Mariana who is normally shy and to see her light up as she played.
  • Sharing my cake with Paula and having Paula come up and
apologize for ripping a picture I gave her. She didn’t like the way she looked,
but she was so sweet today and caring.
  • Painting nails for the last 1.5 hours of the day. Painting hands and sitting at their feet serving them.
  • Being upstairs and looking at Florintina and getting a joyous smile
back — OH MY, so precious!

So THANK YOU LORD for such a special day! THANK YOU LORD for
meeting me there and for allowing me to be an open vessel. I was so blessed to
be used by you and to see your love pour out. It was a surreal but so natural
and wonderful feeling.

And all throughout the day I was overwhelmed thinking

THANK YOU
SUPPORTERS

for allowing this to be my life. THANK YOU for your sacrifice and
for your gift. It’s because of you that I could experience today and reach out in love to these women. It’s because of your love and
generosity and through your support and prayer that I am able to be here and to be
an open vessel. So THANK YOU! And the women at Jubilee thank you!
