Do you want to be part of my World Race adventure? I would love for you to partner with me! First I would like to thank everyone who has funded me so far! I have raised over a third of my funding! I have been so overwhelmed with your generosity and encouragement!
What is the World Race?
In September I plan on leaving for 11 months to serve in 11 different countries through the organization Adventures in Missions. My team and I will be serving alongside local Christian organizations in each country by serving in orphanages, hospitals, ministering to women and children in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, planting churches, preaching the gospel and so much more. I am so excited to see what God has in store as I step out of my comfort zone and follow His calling for my life. Not only will I have the chance to touch many lives with the love of Christ, but I’ll also grow in my faith and learn more of God’s purpose for my life.
What countries are you going to?
The countries I plan on serving in are Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Japan, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
How can you support me?
I can’t do this without you! More than anything I need your prayer and encouragement both as I prepare to leave and while I am on the field. I would like to thank each and every one of you for the many ways you have invested in me over the years and continue to do so, and I am excited for you to come on this new adventure with me!
I also have financial obligations that need to be met in order for me to serve and show God’s love to people all over the world. The total amount I have to raise is $16,284. These are the financial deadlines I must meet for the World Race:
- $3,500 – Due June 27, 2014 (2 weeks before Training Camp)
- $7,500 – Due August 22, 2014 (2 weeks before Launch)
- $11,000 – Due December 1, 2014 (End of the 3rd month on the field)
- $16,284 – Due March 1, 2015 (End of the 6th month on the field)
By worldly standards, the goal is a big one, but God doesn’t call you to something without providing exactly what you need. Every little bit helps weather that is $10, $20, $100 or $500 donation.
If after prayerful consideration you do feel led to support me financially, there are a few different ways you can help. Financial support can be given as tax-deductible one-time gifts or monthly support. If you would like to send a check, please make them payable to Adventures In Missions with Megan Connors written in the memo line and send the check to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 742570, Atlanta, GA, 30374-2570. If you would prefer to make your donations online you may do so by visiting my blog at meganconnors.theworldrace.org (yours on my blog tight now (:) and clicking “Support Me” tab on the left hand side of the page and complete the donation as instructed. If you choose to give online you can also set up automatically withdrawal to support me monthly. For example, you could give me $20 a month over the next 12 months. Your prayer and financial support is greatly appreciated!
What will my support pay for?
A former World Racer broke down a rough estimate of the expenses of the trip, and I feel that they are important to share with you:
- Your $3.00 donation will pay for my transportation (from my housing to my ministry site for one day) $21 for one week and $93 for one month.
- Your $3.75 donation will pay for my meals for one day. $26.25 for one week and $116.25 for one month.
- Your 5.25 donation will pay for my lodging for one day. $36.75 for one week and $162.75 for one month.
- Your $460 donation will pay for all of my personal expenses for one month. This includes all of other important stuff like translators, ministry supplies, and toilet paper.
