I made a spur of the moment decision when I decided to shave half of my head… Yeah, I said it. I shaved half of my head!! I had to beg my teammate Olivia to shave it for me. Not only did she disapprove, so did the other 17 girls that I was living with. Of course, that surely didn’t stop me.
I’ve been getting a few interesting comments about my hair but one stuck out to me in particular. A friend said, “I can’t believe you did that. You don’t seem like that type of person”. Immediately I was a little offended. Looking for a quick response, I realized that her comment was exactly what I needed to hear. I am different from the “type” of person I was before. I don’t want to be the same and I’m not going to be. I’m not going to be hesitant this year. I am not going to blend in. I am not going to shy away from any task the Holy Spirit calls me to. I am going to stand strong in my faith and I’m going to be bold. Just like this hairstyle, I am going standout. I am going to be that fearless woman of God that I was called up to be.
