I’ve spent this last week living in a tent, bathing out of the river and sharing my space with 47 other missionaries. We have done manual labor together. We have cooked, cleaned, and done laundry. We have taught English to the local children. We have laughed, cried and prayed together. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has been worth it. I’ve learned so much, so much more than I could ever learn in school or in the comforts of my own home or my own country. God is stretching me in ways I have never been stretched.

Today I could see God working. He is in control. I know he will use me. In this moment that I have so little, I can see God working so clearly. If that’s what it takes, I don’t ever want anything.
I don’t want a nice car. I would rather pile 10 people into a 5-passenger vehicle.

I don’t want a nice house with a bed and a TV. I’m ok with a tent and the sounds of God’s creatures.

I don’t need a hot shower. A cold shower in the river will wake me up into the glory of God more than ever.

I don’t need a washer or a dryer. God gave us capable hands for that.

I don’t even need a gym. An outdoor court is where it’s at!!!

I will trade it all. I don’t need those things but I do need God. I need him!!! To truly feel his presence, it’s worth it. I love you Lord and it is worth it.
Matthew 16:25
