1. Expectations are sneaky. They tell you to not have expectations coming into the World Race. Easy enough, right? Wrong! Telling yourself you don't have expectations is easy. As the week progressed the expectations, I didn't realize I was holding on to, didn't get met. Through out the week I saw different members of my squad get pulled out to talk about being a team leader. I started to realize an expectation I was holding especially tight that week. I thought I should be a leader. It only hit me when I wasn't the one being pulled out.

2. I'm free to be me. Starting this journey with 45 strangers was one of the scariest things I have done, but it is also one of the most freeing. These people did not know me before training camp. They have no expectations of who I should be. I am free to show them who I am and who I want to be.

3. Praying isn't just talking to God. You have to listen. If you want an answer sometimes you just need to be quiet and listen.

4. Dance parties/dance offs should happen often and are always worth it!

5. My squad is a family. We came in as strangers and in 1 week we became a family. And I love it!

6. God makes beautiful things. YOU are one of them. Never forget that!

 7. God works in many different ways. Be open to it.

8. Doubt is a lie. It is also easy to fall into, especially self doubt. Seek the truth!

9. Rain happens. Learn to dance in it. Or play soccer in it.

10. Alone time isn't truly alone anymore. You don't get to be alone any where on the World Race. Alone time becomes putting in your Ipod and pretending no one else is there.

11. Go with the flow. There was no schedule given to us for training camp. We were usually only told what we were going to do next. You just need to roll with the punches.
