I was reading a book called “Love Does,” when one of the chapters hit on the idea of stalking God. That is when I realized for most of my life, I stalked Jesus. I learned a lot of facts about him. I went to bible studies and studied him. I talked like i really knew him, but in reality I only knew a lot ABOUT him. It is not the same as really knowing him.
When you get to know someone you don’t just find out facts about them and ask other people about them. That’s creepy. You actually need to start a relationship with them. Spend some time with them. Talk to them. When you do things together, you build deeper connections and relationships.
You have to do the same thing with God. You need to intentionally build a relationship. Spend time with God. Talk to him and LISTEN too! No one can do this for you. If you really want to know God, you have to be intentional.
This is something I have been working on a lot lately. No more stalking Jesus for me. It’s really great actually. The more you get to know someone, more you learn how they feel about something. You get to know what’s in their heart and sometimes it really starts to change your heart. The closer I draw to him, the more he teaches me. When I see his heart and love for people, I cannot help but want to love people like that also.
These are the students I am working with this month and You just can’t help but love them!
Here in Costa Rica I am working at Glory Christian School. It is a small private school in San Pedro del Brava near Heredia. I have had to opportunity to help out in the 3rd/4th grade class and help teach. The students are great and the teacher, Miss Ashli (a world race alumni), has been a wonderful contact and help to us! I have also been going home with one of the students two nights a week to help her with homework, to study, and learn English. It has been an amazing opportunity to experience the culture first hand!
I want to thank you all for your support! I have reached my December deadline! Which means I start my journey to Asia on November 30th! I have made it further than I ever thought I could. I couldn’t have done it without your help, and of course God’s help! Love you all!!!
