J Squad arrived safely in Haiti on Tuesday! This month, Team Free to Be and Team R.O.A.R. are serving with Together We Can in Montrouis, Haiti (pronounced Mowi). It has only been five days, but I feel like I have been doing The World Race forever… and I absolutely love it.

This month we are blessed beyond measure. We are serving with a wonderful ministry, have access to actual showers, have delicious meals, and are sleeping in beds. The ministry that we are partnered with, Together We Can, has so much to offer us and it has been super exciting to have options in ministry. TWC is a part of several different ministries that we get the pleasure of helping with. They run an orphanage that is home to 17 beautiful, smart, and funny kiddos and school started this week so we are getting to serve as teachers and tutors. There are several construction projects that we can help with, including building cabinets and a new playground for the orphanage. They also run a farm that is home to hundreds of chickens and they plant, grow, and take care of their own crops. TWC also has a water project that is currently underway and when finished, it will provide fresh water to over 1,000 homes in the community. As you can see, our options feel endless, and we are incredibly blessed to be able to assist Together We Can in each of their incredible ministries that are spread throughout the community.

Haiti is a beautiful country filled with beautiful people. I have felt God’s presence so fully here. He is working through our teams as we bring His love and light to the Haitian people. I also feel so blessed by my team and the relationships that I am building with each of them. It is so cool to see how the Lord clearly placed us all together for a reason. They are so intentional about helping me grow and become the best person that I can be in Christ. I cannot wait to see all of the exciting things that the Lord will do this month.

Prayer Request: Would you join me in praying for physical, spiritual, and emotional strength for my squad mates and I? Days on the Race can feel long and we are often exhausted, but we are so excited to bring God’s kingdom to earth, even through the challenges, hardships, and ailments.

Fundraising Update: As of right now, I am about 76 percent funded for the Race. Can I just fall to my knees in awe of how incredible the Lord is? Wow. Thank you all so much for your love, prayers, and support as I continue this epic journey that God has prepared for my squad mates, teammates, and myself. If you are interested in donating, please click on the ‘Support Me!’ link on the left side of the page. Thanks so much again! I love you all.
