Here is a quick update on all that we have been up to the last month and a half or so!

Month 2: El Puente Camp – Bolivia

Last month, we had an all-squad month near Coroico, Bolivia! Our month was spent serving at El Puente (the bridge) camp with the camp’s director, Hermano Lucho, who can best be described as a kind-hearted, precious man who loves the Lord with his entire being. El Puente camp is nestled deep in a valley, only to be accessed by crossing a rickety wooden bridge that takes you over a rushing river.

Our ministry at El Puente consisted mostly of creating rock paths that weaved their way all throughout the camp. The process for this was long and monotonous. We spent our first week and a half of ministry down by the river in assembly lines passing rocks. Every single rock was hand-picked by a J squad ROCKstar, passed down a long assembly line, placed into wheelbarrows, and taken up to be laid in piles next to the already existing dirt path. Once we were able to collect enough rocks (I’m talking somewhere near a thousand) we began to dig out the dirt path and set the rocks like puzzle pieces into the ground. Each rock had to be perfectly placed or the path would not settle correctly, leaving it wobbly or uneven. This was indeed an intense task, but it was incredible to see how far we had come by the end of our month at camp. We completed about 100 yards of rock solid (no pun intended) path for future campers to walk on.

Our month in Bolivia was also filled with homemade vegetarian meals, bugs that ate us alive, and mountain views that took my breath away. It was a month of living in our tents, taking naps in hammocks, and growing as a squad. We were able to learn that pouring into each other is a ministry, even when the ministry that fills each day is not relational. It was a month of growth and beautiful lessons learned, all in the name of Jesus.

Month 3: Savage Ministries – Trujillo, Peru

This month, Team Free to Be is working with Savage Ministries in Trujillo, Peru. We are about a week and a half into our ministry here and our days are filled with various ministries. We are helping with school in the mornings, teaching English in the afternoons, and preaching at various church services throughout the week in the evenings. Our time here thus far has been quite eventful and we are looking forward to our remaining time in Peru!

Thank you so much to all who have supported me on this incredible journey. I am beyond blessed and cannot put into words how grateful I am to have so many people supporting me in this season of my life. Thank you again; I love you all!
