A team member of mine recently mentioned a show on Netflix called The Kindness Diaries. If you haven’t already, watch it! It’s amazing. My curiosity peaked as I learned it was about a man who traveled around the world solely relying on people’s kindness. I basically watched the entire season in 24 hours, it was so good! Every episode had me tearing up. It was absolutely inspiring. People who were homeless gave their clothes, pregnant women gave up their beds, and people on the street offered help to this man with whatever means they had, which was often very little.

It got me thinking what the world could be like if everyone lived like this. What kind of a difference can I make by living like this?

My excitement for the World race has grown (I didn’t think that was even possible) with the realization that I am going to be living similarly to the man in The Kindness Diaries. I am so unbelievably thrilled to travel around the world and spend every day seeking to help and give to those around me.

It’s so easy for me to look at all the bad in the world and feel like there’s no hope; however, this show has reminded me how special people are, how a little bit of kindness makes a difference, and how God uses us for much greater things than we can imagine.

I know that this trip will be hard in ways I can’t imagine, but if I can make a difference to just one person, it’ll all be worth it!

For everyone who reads this, I implore you to act with kindness. Maybe the world I imagined, where everyone lives in kindness and love, isn’t as impossible as it seems.
