A lot has happened in the world this past weekend. So much damage, so much evil.

But Jesus.

That’s something I’ve started including in my thought process, especially when my mind gets away from me. Dealing with anxiety and depression, there’s so much that runs through my head. Even when things go wrong or when tragic things happen, it’s easy for our thoughts to get away from us, wondering how on earth things could possibly get any better than the current situation.

But Jesus.

Thinking back over ten years ago, I didn’t even think or want to believe I could make it past my 16th birthday.

But Jesus.

After the events that completely changed the world in all the wrong ways when I was younger, I was in a quality of life where I actually prayed for death.

But Jesus.

The world gets crazier and crazier, and it hasn’t had a difficult time being as far as possible from being gentle.

But Jesus.

When bringing those two words into my thought process during difficult times, it starts the process of focusing on the hope and redemption that comes from Christ’s sacrifice that He made 2,000 years ago. It starts the healing we need. It brings growth and a desire for more intimacy with God.

So I encourage everyone, whenever you find yourself in a difficult time or a rough mental state, remember:

But Jesus.
