Ok, so here’s a little about Meagan Catherine McCall.
First of all, I am not a fan of talking about myself or analyzing myself.
Maybe that’s why I’ve waited so long to write this bio.
I was born and raised in Tennessee.
My dad’s a country music singer from Ohio.
My mom is an elementary school librarian from Quebec, Canada.
I have two older brothers, Jarrett and Jordan, and I have a house full of pets, due in large part to my brother Jordan.
Three of them are his.
Jarrett is married to one of my good friends, Elizabeth, but we all call her Eli.
I don’t have any nieces or nephews yet.
I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Mass Comm/Broadcast Journalism.
I did various trips with AIM throughout college, and I knew that I was called to the mission field.
When I graduated in 2004, I moved to Mexico as a First Year Missionary with AIM.
My plan was to learn Spanish down there for 4 months, come back and try to get a job as a bilingual reporter.
Well, I ended up staying down there for most of the year and coming on staff with AIM.
I also realized that I could never just be a reporter at a news station somewhere in the U.S.
I knew that I had to be on the mission field in some way.
Towards the end of last year (2005), I heard about the World Race.
I was living in Mexico at the time.
When I read the details of the trip, I had to laugh.
I remembered a few years ago, I had said to my parents that I wanted to live in a different country for a month for an entire year, 12 countries, 12 months.
I never thought I would actually have the opportunity to do that.
I especially didn’t think I would be doing mission work while doing that.
At the beginning of this year, I got the opportunity to travel part of the way with the World Racers as the videographer!
It was such an amazing time in my life.
Not only was I getting to do this crazy dream I had had a few years ago, but I was also getting to combine the skills I learned in college with mission work…another dream of mine.
I learned so much about living a life of complete and total dependence on the Lord in just the few short months I spent on the World Race.
Let me say, there is nothing like it!
Now, I have been given the opportunity to go the entire year next year and help lead the media team.
As I type this, I am seeing how the Lord has worked out everything in my life to get to this point.
Not only is he making my dreams come true, but they are better than I ever could have imagined!
I cannot wait to work with this amazingly talented group of people and see what God does with what He has blessed us with.
I am committed 100% to Him.
My feet, my hands, my body, and everything I have are His!
It’s going to be an amazing year!
