I am now livng in Lima, Peru for the next month. We’ve been here over a week. It’s interesting to be here. I was here four years ago. It was the first place the Lord told me to go to when He called me to the mission field.
It was my first mission trip. It was the beginning of a life of complete fulfilment. It was the first time my eyes were opened to the rest of the world. It was the first time my heart was awakened to the lost, broken, and needy outside the walls of the United States. Something inside me came alive, and I knew I could never go back to my normal life.
I feel like the Lord has something for me in Peru this time around, as well. It’s as though I’ve come full circle and I’m back to where I started. Only this time I have a few more experiences under my belt. The poverty is not as shocking as it was four years ago. I’ve seen Africa and India…it’s hard to compare devastating poverty, but I can’t help but do it. I find myself saying, “Yeah, that’s bad, but it’s nothing like Kibera, Kenya.”
I don’t know what the Lord has for me here. I’m just walking with Him. I’m going where He’s leading and trusting that He will show me. I praise Him for first calling me to this country. I praise Him for what an amazing two months that was. Now, I praise Him for what an amazing four years He has given me since then…a life time of experiences in just a few years.

Me singing with our newly formed worship band. It’s a blast!
