I made it!  With 40 pounds on my back and a couple smaller bags crammed full, I am now back in the place I once called home…Matamoros, Mexico.  Driving down the street, weaving in out of traffic brought back many memories.  It almost feels as though I never left.  I hear dogs barking everywhere.  I hear music everywhere loudly playing from different houses.  I smell the tortilleria just a few steps down the street.  I see familiar faces.  I hear the language I’ve wanted to hear for awhile.  It’s good to be back!

I still haven’t processed all that will come in this next year.  I want to take it day by day.  I want to be in this moment.  I want to soak up everything that is happening around me, not be worried about a month down the road.  I know God has big things to come, but He is here right now.  He is moving in this moment.  He is preparing me now.

It was difficult saying good-bye to all the ones I love.  I definitely teared up more than once.  But I think I soaked up every moment I had at home, as well.  Trips to Wal-Mart for last minute stuff may not have been the greatest moments, but eating pizza on my couch with my best friends and my family last night was.  I will miss my home, but now my home will be wherever God leads me.  I will have many new homes this coming year.  I will have a whole new family to share it with.  The journey has begun!
