7/16/12

I have mastered ignoring things that happen to me in life.
If something happens I can walk away and forget about it.
As soon as it’s over I can push it to the back of my mind.

Until now.
All of that just changed.

I’m going to be at a mission school for the next two weeks.
So I walked in and introduced myself to the teacher.
Together we got the kids started on a project.
And then she began to tell the stories.

None of these kids will be able to go to a regular school.
They have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and their IQ isn’t high enough to be admitted.

This little girl was raped four times by her dad.
Her mother is a drug addict.

This little boy watched as his dad was stabbed to death.
He now has anger issues and needs counseling but there is nothing available for him.

This girl was found roaming on the beach one afternoon.
Her parents are nowhere to be found.

I stand there listening with more emotions running through me than I know what to do.
My heart is broken.
I’m angry.
I’m helpless.
I don’t understand.

I don’t get how you can allow these things to happen.
If you know everything that is going to happen
Before it happens then why do you even allow these children to be born?
What’s the point in putting them on earth to have such a crappy life?
Why do you let these things happen to your innocent children?
Where are you in all of this?
Why are you sitting by and watching this happen?
Why will you not rescue your children?

I can just feel the children crying out:
“O Lord, I have come to you for protection; don’t let me be disgraced. Save me and rescue me, for you do what is right. Turn your ear to listen to me, and set me free. Be my rock of safety where I can always hide. Give the order to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked, from the clutches of the cruel oppressors.”- Psalm 71:1-5
They need your protection.
They need you to save and rescue them.
They need to be set free.
They need you to be their place of safety where they can hide.

They need you.
So please just do something.
Stop sitting by and allowing child after child to be abused and left alone.
Please.
