Yay for REI’s Labor Day sale! I’ve spent countless hours learning about ultra-light tents, 65 liter backpacks, sleeping mats, headlamps and various other “new to me” articles for supplying my “closet” (backpack). And since I have to carry it all on my back the first thing I look for is how much it weighs. Did you know that ultralight tents are less than 4 lbs? It was great to take advantage of the expertise of the REI employees as well as the sale.
Shopping the online sales has also been profitable. Packages and boxes arrive weekly with things like packing cubes, chacos, ultra-light towels, and a 15000 mm waterproof raincoat for those torrential downpours in the Philippines. I am acquiring quite a unique collection of supplies that I am told I will need. Thankfully, the end of the summer is the perfect time to take advantage of clearance items.
I’m also collecting some spiritual luggage – like trust, faith, and learning to forgive. I’m sure these will be needed even more than my Big Agnes Copper Spur tent and God is helping me learn them for FREE!
Learning to put on my backpack.
Testing sleeping mats – I got one that is 4 inches thick….
along with a repair kit 🙂
The $1117.65 loot!
Yikes – paying for that loot. Good thing I have my dog
kennel business – Sepia and Sienna’s last litters are
paying for this 🙂
