Last week, someone Courtney works with at her church found out they needed to move in less than one month. The realtor told Mrs. Kim she needed to order a cleaning service before putting the house on the market in three weeks. Talk about a time crunch! Before calling a cleaning company, Mrs. Kim remembered Courtney talking about needing to raise a pretty large sum of money in order for her to go on a mission trip. So she called up Courtney and offered her and I the opportunity to scrub her baseboards…I've never been so excited and willing to clean before! (Sorry, mom!)

Courtney and I, along with some of our wonderful small group girls, spent six hours on our hands and knees scrubbing and wiping down every white baseboard. It was so fulfilling being able to serve Mrs. Kim and she loved the opportunity to be a part of our journey. Asking people for money is something I have never been comfortable with; I even feel bad when my dad gives me a random $20. (My daddy is such a generous man :D) So when the opportunity came for me to serve someone for the donations they were so willingly to give, I jumped on it. I don't want the fundraising part of this journey to be all about me asking for money — although that is a part of it — but I also want to look for ways to give back and serve those who are supporting me.

Courtney and me

I have been brainstorming new fundraising ideas and there is one in particular I am extrememly excited about. Most of you know I love photography, but my camera was stolen this past summer when I was in Spain. But, the Lord is good! One of my dear friends Catherine has offered me her Canon to use for this funraiser. Graduation at UGA is just around the corner, so I am going to do a graduation photo fudnraiser! (I need a catchier title, suggestions?) I am so grateful to get to use my love of photography to fundraise and give my supporters something tangible in return! So stay tuned in for more info and updates.

Prayer request: That I will manage my time effeciently to get my class work done and get this fundraiser off the ground. I have never had a busier class schedule and then on top of that I am trying to raise $15,500, so needless to say, I have been a little stressed. Thank you for your prayers! Let me know how I can be praying for you!
