It has been forever since I have written a blog, so I figured it was time for an update ๐
This summer has been amazing and so much has happened! So here it goes!
1) I have been spending the last six weeks traveling as the Intern Director for One 18 Movement. It was such an incredible experience to lead a team through leadership training, spiritual formation, and evangelism. I learned so much about myself as a leader and how to truly disciple others. Not to mention these 8 teenagers have such huge hearts for Jesus, which made serving alongside them all summer such a blessing! SIDE NOTE: I learned a lot of tips on community living and how much fun it’s going to be on the race!!
2) In just the few months that I have been accepted on the race, it has been great making connections with my squadmates (even got to video chat with some!) and making connections with people I never would’ve but now have a World Race connection point!
3) I purchased my plane ticket for Nashville so I can head to Training Camp in October! Also the countdown is getting real, because it’s only 71 DAYS AWAY!!
4) I finished up a T-shirt fundraiser and was blown away by the support of my family and friends! THANK YOU!!
5) Now that I am home, I cracked open all the goodies that came in the mail while I was gone. I set up my tent and honestly hung out in it all night ๐
6) I am so excited to announce that I have $3,000 raised towards my race!! Thank you to all who have supported me so far along this journey! I am blown away by God’s goodness and the generosity of others!! ๐
This journey has just started too! I look forward to the preparation months leading up to me launching in January and to the adventures that the next year will bring as my team and I head to Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, India, Nepal, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Romania, and Ukraine!
Much Love,
~McKenzie
