Today was just so sweet. That is the only words that could come out of my mouth our entire last day of ministry with the City of Refuge. Getting to partner alongside this ministry all month was a blessing beyond what I can fully express. They allowed us to come serve alongside what they are already doing and allow us the space to love their people and community greater. Each week, I got to serve alongside the women of the program. Our team got to help prep meals, clean the kitchen, and enjoy conversations throughout our morning routines. Then we would have a discussion led bible study on the book of Proverbs. I loved learning from each of the women as they shared their stories and what God was teaching them.
It was our last ministry day with them and we were given the afternoon to plan an outing. We wanted it to be something special for us all to enjoy each other and to remember the day well. So we ordered a pizza, had some ice cream, and walked around the botanical gardens. I loved every moment of it! Even the crazy idea of putting icing on the pizza (it was actually delicious!!) We got to fellowship and talk about our life plans after the race and their plans for after they graduate from the program. We got to be silly and take a bunch of pictures. We got to embrace sisterhood and just love each other well for those few hours. There is really not much else to say besides that this day was so sweet to me and I will cherish these ladies and memories forever!
