AFRICA…You changed my heart, you open and healed my vision, you restored my soul, YOU have made me a better person!

What a week you blessed me with. the chance to go into the unknown.  To walk in places few only dream of. To hold little children who encompass love in the purest form. To look in the eyes of women who have overcome obstacles I can’t even imagine…yet, smile in ways that light up the room. In ways you can tell they are filled with joy beyond measure and the light and life of Christ in the most powerful of ways. To build relationships that will last a lifetime. to ignite in me a passion for international mission work, where I I know my story can be shared and help bring HOPE and everlasting peace to others.  To be able to spend time with my daughter in an intimate setting that allowed for meaningful and rich conversations. To be able to plant a tree and give it a name, so that when I visit again I can see how the deep, rich and vibrant soil will take hold of it and give it purpose and help it grow. to being stretched outside of my comforts, but thrilled for the experience. To cold showers and bunk beds. To be able to drink healing water and feel with every sip m body, mind and soul being restored and rejuvenated…TO SO MUCH MORE!

I have learned through my time in Africa that we are invited to be fully alive, awake, alert and oriented to the truth.  We are to know that because of Jesus we can be defiantly joyful. In any and all circumstances, that is the call He has placed on our lives! The people of Africa showed me this, and I desire to live DEFIANTLY JOYFUL!

OHHHHHH AFRICA!!! I am not the same person I was when I stepped off the plane…AND I don’t want to be!!!

I’m still processing how you have impacted my life…all I do know is I never want to go back to the way I was! I pray God will continue to unfold the plans He has for my life! Thank you, McKenzie, for the extreme honor and privilege of joining you in such a special place!
