During our debrief in Nepal we had team changes! It was hard and a little strange to leave Papoula Fogo. We had so many incredible memories together during our four months on the race. However, there is an excitement within getting a new team. I get to grow closer in community and live out missional life with a group of wonderful ladies!
When trying to come up with a new team name, there were plenty of options that were thrown in the hat. However, Laurie suggested Team Fresh and it just stuck! We love the idea that we get to start this second half of the race refreshed. We get to start with a fresh vision for our new team. We bget to encounter fresh awakenings from the Lord through continual pursual of Him, because He has so much more to teach us! We also get to experience fresh experiences and memories that only us at a team will get to cherish.

Meet my team:
Laurie

Laurie is one of the most vibrant people I have ever met. She has such a free spirit that makes her approachable to all. She never ceases an opportunity to have a conversation with someone and is so intuned to who the Lord wants her to speak with. She leads purely for her love of others, and she does this so beautifully! I can’t wait to learn how to love better through her example over these next 4 months.
Aleesa:

I love that I get to spend my entire race with this girl! I have loved each month getting to know more and more about her. She has a personality like no one else and she knows how to make you feel comfortable to be yourself. This girl loves to be in the Word and is constantly striving to not only know God better for herself, but brings her community alongside to grow with her! Also, she is our team’s treasurer. One week in and she’s already going above and beyond to help our team steward our finances well!
Shondra:

What’s not to love about this girl! She is relational with others and gets down onto a person’s level to truly know them. She has such a natural radiance to her that only comes from having authentic intimacy with the Father. She is a deep thinker and carries a lot of wisdom within, yet also knows how to be silly and enjoy life! I am honored to be on her team to get to learn from her how to live in the present and truly love it.
Maci:

Maci is such a funny person! I am so thankful that we have someone on our team who can make us all laugh. She is a person with so much insight to give and she gives it always in the right timing. Every morning at breakfast I see this girl pouring into the Word and her commentaries. She is someone who is on this journey of continual growth for what the Bible teaches. It inspires me and I am eager to learn more of the insight she has learned over these four months on the race!
Lauren:

Lauren has been the queen of vulnerability! She is so willing to share her heart with us as a team, and it really pushes us to want to do the same. She is someone who you can immediately trust as she creates a safe and loyal space in friendships. She is a person that you know will press into for life! I look forward to our months together to grow and pursue the people we want to become at the end of this race!
So there you have it, this is Team Fresh or Fresh ta Death!!
Something that is new and exciting for me is that at debrief I was asked if I would like to step up into the team leadership position for Team Fresh. I will still be assisting with Beauty for Ashes, but I am excited to grow in my leadership skills by getting to lead this powerful group of ladies! I feel honored and wouldn’t want to be doing this last leg of the race with anyone else!
Stay tuned for more blogs on our time in Nepal and the amazing ministry we get to partner with in Pokhara, Nepal.
