So we have officially finished Day 2 of hiking the Camino. 32 miles have been completed and here’s something I’ve learned along the way…when hiking with other people you quickly learn how different enneagram personalities complete each day. This is just some of the things I have picked up on.

Tyler- 2W1: a natural perfectionist side comes out in him that makes him want to complete the daily mileage no matter what. He will walk through any amount of pain just to keep up with his friends. He also has a huge servants heart that is willing to let his pride drop to take a taxi with a fellow hiking buddy who just can’t walk the last 9 miles of the day.

Ben- 1W9: He will out hike you any day! He will be the ring leader of the group to follow the maps and get you to your final destination. He will walk and walk and walk without you ever knowing he is tired. That peaceful side of him will be the part that keeps turning around every so often to make sure his friends are still walking and aren’t getting too far behind.

Caleb- 8W7: While hiking, you will rarely hear him complain about anything. He is confidently enjoying each step we take (especially since his pack is as light as feathers!). He will be the one to keep motivating the crowd, however his stubbornness will keep him walking those last lengthy 9 miles instead of jumping in a taxi.

Carly- 8W7: Like Caleb, she is stubborn in wanting to complete what was set in front of her and doesn’t want to miss out on any of the experience. She will walk those last 9 miles even if it leads to blisters and bruises! She will be your cheerleader through this whole hike. She is selfless enough to walk a pace you’re comfortable at to make you not feel left behind.

McKenzie- 9W8: A natural peacemaker, she will want to make sure everyone is enjoying the hike. With many blisters and hip pain she feels burdensome by walking slower than her friends. She will choose to take a taxi over walking the last 9 miles because she wants her friends to be able to walk the pace she knows they want to walk. (But also because her feet would no longer allow movement because those blisters are no joke!)

So that’s all we’ve got from just 2 days on the Camino! More updates and maybe even a rest day to follow soon 🙂
