This week I find myself in Colorado. At a little place called Lost Valley Ranch.
The seniors at my school take a trip out here every year, and finally it was my turn.
You look out at the view and you can’t help but thank the creator for what he created.
We got here, and I was so excited. I was ready to do everything.
The first day all I wanted to do was chill and ride a horse after lunch, and that’s exactly what I did.
The next morning, we woke up kind of early, and we decided to hike.
We woke up, ate breakfast, and we were headed that way.
On the way there it was flat, so no biggie.
However, it started to get steep. It began to feel like every step hurt.
I easily began to become tired and I was already over it. I didn’t think I could continue.
However, my friends encouraged me, saying, “We are close. You can do it.”
Every step burned.
Rock after rock, hill after hill, we were getting closer.
Finally, we were at the top.
I look out at the view and I am amazed.
It was easily worth every step.
My legs burned and I was out of breath, but the only thing I could say was “so worth it.”
It’s kind of like our walk with Christ.
Every day its hard to pursue and seek Jesus.
It’s hard to do everything Christ like and everything according to glorifying him.
There are times when you are tempted.
There are times when there are battles, heartache, and a lot of brokenness.
However, seeking Jesus through it and continuing to trust him is like getting to the top of the mountain top.
You finally get there and you see this breathtaking view and you see these mountains that our savior hand created.
When this life is done with, if you have Christ in your heart, and you have spent your life pursuing that relationship, you will find yourself in the most beautiful place.
A place of love, and joy.
A place where it isn’t hard.
A place where you rejoice.
You will find yourself in a place that was worth it.
Being different was worth it.
Following Jesus instead of the world was worth it.
Forgetting about the mountain top you want to reach, and running up the mountain that the Lord prepared for you.
It will all be worth it.
This week I found myself at the top of mountain for a lot of things.
The Lord affirmed that the World Race was it, and all my stressing was so silly.
I am at $12,209.
WHAT?!?!
I hiked up a mountain praising Jesus for the view and for the friends I was with.
I walked down the mountain to find a notification saying I had been given a donation of $10,000.
Seriously WHAT!!???
This life is hard, but the Lord is being faithful. He is showing me that hiking up the mountain isn’t going to be easy, but at the top of the mountain, at the end of the valley, at the destination of his plan for you, it will be worth it.
Don’t stop your hike.
I encourage you, hike up the whole mountain. Reach the top.
Jesus is making a way.
Your mountain top will be worth it.
Following him will be worth it.
