The past few weeks have flown by since I decided to go on world race gap year! I jumped straight into support raising, which has been great! I am so thankful for my community surrounding me, supporting me, and loving me. I recently did a pork butt fundraiser which I was a little bit nervous about. Last summer I did this fundraiser to go on a week long mission trip to Cuba. We sold 36 pork butts and it was great. However, with world race being 9 months I have a much bigger goal to raise and I wasn’t sure how i could sell enough pork butts to really help. My goal for this fundraiser was to sell 50 pork butts, my dad bought 64 in confidence that they would sell. I was a little upset thinking I barely reached 50 now I need to fine 14 more people to buy them. Before I even arrived to help cook them all 64 were sold and more people continually asked to buy some. We ran to the store and bought 9 more- since it was 8:30 at night that’s all we could get. We then sold all additional 9 and God showed me that when I’m working for him he will always go above and beyond what I think. I ended up selling 73 pork butts, and I know had we bought more we would have sold them!  With all the support and my first fundraiser I am officially 30% funded! I have 7 weeks till I leave and still quiet a bit of money to raise still, but I have so much faith that it will be taken care of. I look forward to this journey, and everything else I will learn along the way!
