My name is Maya Kuipers, and I am 19 years old.
My birthday is March 10th, 1997.
I have lived in many places, so describing where I’m from is a bit complicated, but I will quickly sum it up. I was born in Vancouver, British Columbia; lived briefly in Las Vegas, Nevada; lived most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area(that’s home, to be honest); and currently reside in Edmonton, Alberta.
I live with my mom and sister.
My sister and I are best friends.
And I have an older brother who is also super rad.
I have an extremely strong passion for helping others and making a difference in this world. You’ll know this after about 5 minutes of talking to me because I probably will have already talked to you about SeaWorld, bear bile farming, or an array of other injustices.

I love being active and spending time outdoors.
I love to travel, explore, and go on any adventures that I possibly can, whether they are big or small. I have been to 12 different countries total.

Music is one of the biggest parts of my life, and I am pretty much constantly listening to it. I’m also super into vinyl, which is clearly depicted in the photograph below.
I’m completely in love with the beach, but let’s be real, who isn’t?
I absolutely love Disney movies. I am convinced that I’m Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
I love animals of all kinds, and believe that it is the job of the human race to respect, love, and care for the environment and all living things.
I love to write and am currently writing a book.
I also love to read, which is pretty crucial when you’re a writer.
Finally, and most importantly, I love God. I believe that He has used every experience in my life, both good and bad, to shape who I am today, and I look forward to the incredible things that He has planned for my future.
