Fundraising. What a scary word. I’m not gonna lie, I did not like the thought of fundraising for this trip. It was really stressful. $15,800 is a lot of money for a 18 year old to fundraise for. Before this trip, I would rather have worked extra hours on top of extra hours at work to reach my goal. But I’ve learned that fundraising is a fundamental part of mission work. Not only because you need money for mission work, but also because when you decide to not ask people to support you on your mission, you can be robbing them of a blessing that God is trying to grant them. Others can partner with you in God’s great kingdom work! I would like to ask you to take time in prayer with God to see where He may be leading you in supporting this ministry. This may look different than just finances, it can look like prayer and getting the word out. God’s guidance in your part is the most important factor! Let me give you some scriptural context for why I am pursuing this ministry.
In Matthew 28:18-20, the last thing Jesus says to his followers is to go. Go and make disciples of all nations. A pretty cool thing that I can’t get out of my head is that Jesus has all the authority of Heaven and earth. And He tells us to go with that authority and spread His gospel. This gives me the strength and power to go without the fear of being rejected because I’m doing what my Father asks of me. Whether that looks like going overseas to serve kids, going down to Louisiana to help with disaster relief, asking people to give and partner with me in my mission, or even simply telling strangers I meet day to day about Jesus! I am excited to carry out this Great Commission! God gives me hope in the end of the scripture, assuring me that He will be with me always!
Thank you all for your consideration in this partnership! I am so excited to join with you in God’s Kingdom work, and please reach out with any questions or to learn more about what I am doing. Thanks! 🙂
