This blog was actually written by Shea Hendry, but I wanted to share:
When I first signed up for the World Race, Egypt was on our route. It was quickly removed due to safety concerns, but the story continues.
A couple months ago, one of my teammates met a man in Cyrpus with connections in Egypt. After a series of introductions, one thing led to another, and a new proposal was submitted to our leadership back in the States to send one team into Egypt during the month of February.
The proposal was approved, but the last minute route adjustments mean Egypt requires some additional fundraising for the cost of airfare and some of the more specific ministry needs there.
While in Egypt, the team will be working with a host to build a soccer field in one of the poorest areas in the country. Along with sending the team, the funds raised will be used for some of the materials for the soccer field. They will also be partnering with a local church and participating in prayer gatherings and services during the month.
If you’d like to help in anyway, please follow this link:

If for any reason the situation changes, and the team is not able to go, the funds raised will still be given to the ministry in Egypt in support of a local soccer field.
I’ve been so blessed over the past year by everyone who has supported me in fundraising and preparing for the World Race. I’m excited about this opportunity, and I wanted to share it with anyone who might be interested, but please know, I have no expectations.
