You know, sometimes God is funny.

We can get ideas in our head, of how things are going to go, or what will happen and then Jesus is like HA! You don’t even know girlfriend.

Matt and I really both have a heart for missions. We love seeing lives transformed. We make a really good team because Matt is such an evangelist and I love discipleship. We are both dreamers and like thinking outside the box, but sometimes we just think we know. Know better or more than God. Pretty ridiculous I know. Or sometimes we think God isn’t going to take care of us.

We had some fears leading up to the race. Trying to make the plans on our own and figure things out for ourselves. Like who is going to be on our team? Will there be anyone our age? Are we going to be the only married couple? Are we even going to like these people we are with for almost a year? How are we going to get all this money? How will we have money to live off of when we move out of our apartment and leave our jobs? All of these questions running through our heads. All this worry. And Jesus is just laughing. You know what laugh im talking about. That laugh that is so joyful that you get the squinty eyes with the sparkle. I love it when Matt laughs like that.

Let me tell you HE PROVIDES!

We walked into training camp and our mentor told us there was going to be a married couple our age who just finished the world race for the first 6 months. HA!

There are way more people our age than I ever would have imagined. HA!

Our team is the best. Like wowwowwow (thanks Paige). I am so excited to share Gods love with these people, and watch Him grow us in ways that are literally going to blow our minds. HA!

We still need about $10,000 but the Lord has brought us so much already and Jesus has provided what we need to launch.HA! If you could help us out and share our blog link on your Facebook or email and ask people to pray for us that would be amazing. We know how important the power of prayer is and I think it‘s so beautiful when Gods children come together and pray for people they don’t even know. Or just comment under our blog post with peoples emails and we will add them!

Matt ended up getting a job in PA about a week after we got here. He is making protein bars from 6am-2pm and has gotten to share the gospel several times already and invited several people to church. HA!

To top it all off…we just got a route change. Instead of going to Myanmar we are going to Indonesia. WOW. Matt and I both went there together for almost 5 months and Matt just got back from going there again this summer for 2 weeks. This will be Matts 3rd time in Indonesia and he has such a heart for that place. HA!

Here is our new route schedule:

January- Cote d’Ivoire

Feburary- Ghana

March- Togo

April- Thailand

May- Malaysia

June- Indonesia

July- Phillipines

August- Argentina

September- Chile

October- Bolivia

November- Peru

The months might change a bit or maybe our route will change again, but this is it for now!

I’m just over here like, God…. I don’t know what you‘ve got going on, but we haven‘t even left yet and you have already been pulling out all the gifts and surprises. I cannot wait to see how He rocks us in the easy times and the hard times over the next 11 months. Please begin praying now.

1. Pray for our hosts. We will be staying with different ministries that are already established in these countries and serving them in any way we can.

2. Pray that God would start giving people dreams. Dreams are very big in Southeast Asia and we will be spending a lot of time there.

3. Pray that we would have grace on our teammates and patience with each other.

4. Pray that our marriage would be so tightly clinging to the Lord that we can’t help but grow closer to Him and each other.

5. Pray for the rest of the finances to come through. For us and the rest of the people on our squad.

6. Pray for safety and good health.

Pray however the Lords leads you, just don’t stop.

Thank you all for following along with us, on this adventure with Jesus. It means more to us than you will ever know.

Papa,

Please help us to remember the laughter, that you are good. You know what is best for us each step of the way and you‘re ALWAYS in the details. Adventures with you are where we learn more than we can ever imagine and grow closer and closer to your heart. Thank you for the hard times, as they help us to rely on you. Thank you for the sweet moments and the HA’s.

You’re the best.

Love,

Kalyn
