I am really starting to fall in love with the kids here, and the coolest thing is that they seem more like my friends than anything else. There’s this kid named Jefferson that’s 20 years old and is still in high school, and is one of my favorite kids here. You would think that it would be hard to communicate when I only speak un poco spanish, but you would be surprised how much we are able to communicate with each other. It’s funny because each of us are trying to learn the other one’s language so we are able to help each other with words and phrases we don’t understand.

There are only two younger kids that are here at the orphanage and both are girls. They are really awesome and the one that is a little older speaks excellent spanish. I actually learn the most from her because she speaks a lot slower and annunciates everything. It is so cool to be immersed in the language and have to learn it in a very practical way. The younger one loves playing with my beard (which I’m sorry to say no longer exists…for now) and playing in any way she can.

It’a crazy to think that we have been here for 2 weeks…half the month is already gone. Time has just been flying by hanging out with the kids and working on construction projects and anything else that is going on. I am enjoying my time in Nicaragua so much and am almost dreading leaving in a couple of weeks. Please continue to pray that as we continue to spend time at the orphanage that we really pour love into these kids and really show them how great God is in every instance. Love and miss all of you!
