My team and I arrived in El Tizate a little after 10:30AM yesterday, which is right outside the city of Antigua. I honestly don’t feel like the pictures give it justice because it is just more beautiful than I can really say or show.

Our ministry contact is amazing and he’s probably one of the most spiritually filled people I have ever met. The first thing he told us as we were riding through El Tizate was that there was a celebration going on this week and that we would probably hear fireworks at 4AM. No worries though…that’s what ear plugs are for. After that, we went to his house and learned how to make a few Guatemalan dishes for lunch. We made elotes and tascalas. A lot of corn! It was so good though because he is so eager to teach us about his culture and what it has to offer.

He has so much ministry work around here as well. Everything from doing devotionals with smaller children in schools to helping an electrician wire a church for a new pastor to any other outreach that benefits the community. In the first day alone, he poured into us so much by encouraging us and providing so much wisdom that he has gained from his own relationship with God.

I really feel that God definitely places people in our paths for a reason and I know the reason he has placed our contact in our path is to strengthen our Pneuma family and to grow each of us individually. I really had no idea what Christians looked like around the world, but after talking to Marco all day yesterday, there is a love and faith for God that surpasses everything I thought. So blessed to be in El Tizate right now serving the Lord!
