It’s crazy sometimes how God can place something in our paths to remind us of certain choices we have made. It really makes me laugh honestly. The orphanage we’re currently at sits on the coast of Lake Nicaragua so we are able to see clear across to other side. One morning, I woke up before breakfast to have some good quiet time with God and read some scripture. However, before I could start, something caught my eye. To most people it would just be something nice to look at, but to me it meant so much more. The thing that caught my eye was a group of wind turbines situated on the other side of the lake.

The reason this caught my eye was because it was a reminder of a choice I had made many months ago. As some of you may or may not know, I was offered a job the same day I was offered to go on the World Race back in June. This job dealt specifically with wind energy and designing wind turbines. Through much prayer, seeking wise counsel, and God showing me where He wanted me, I decided to turn down that job and go on the World Race. Now personally, I don’t believe in coincidences. There are just too many variables and way too many things that could go wrong to think that God is not sovereign. I truly believe God has divine appointments for us each and everyday.

So why would God show me something that I turned down months ago? Had I made the right decision? Then why was it staring at me across the lake? The answer came in the form of prayer and meditation that morning where God spoke very clearly to my heart and said there is a reason I am here at the orphanage and not over there with the wind turbines. That He has specifically placed me here in this season of my life. It’s hard to explain really, but God has reaffirmed this decision over and over, and seeing those wind turbines was a great reminder of how God is so faithful when I stay obedient to Him. I have no idea what God’s plans hold for me in the future, but right now I know I am right where I need to be.
