We wanted to give our supporters an in-depth look at our World Race Budget because we want to be as clear as possible about what your donations go towards. Please know that we are funding this mission work with as much of our own money as possible, but we can’t do this alone and are amazed at God’s provision to this call through the generosity of our supporters!

First, we’ll give you a basic bullet-point outline of how much money we need by when, and then will explain it in more detail:

  • $7,000 – Due 6/12/2015 (Fundraising Goal 1) –We are currently only $706 away from meeting our first goal!
  • $20,000 – Due 8/21/2015 (Fundraising Goal 2)
  • $26,000 – Due 10/31/2015 (Fundraising Goal 3)
  • $32,534 – Due 12/31/2015 (Fundraising Goal 4)
  • $4,000 at the least for additional required expenses not covered in World Race trip costs

Part of becoming missionaries on the World Race means we are responsible to raise funds for the 11 months we’ll be gone.  As a couple, we must raise $32,534 to go on World Race. This amount goes to Adventures in Missions (the missions organization World Race is under) and will cover all our necessary expenses (food, travel, lodging) the entire time we are overseas on World Race.

So where, exactly, does that $32,534 go? This charts above will show you, and here’s a further explanation:

  • 2% ($650) Training Camp
    Cultural training before departure
  • 4% ($1,301) Field Support
Getting us supplies, supporting local contacts, etc.
  • 12% ($3,904) WR Development Program
    Improvements and developments
  • 17% ($5,530) Administration Fees
Processing, paying the staff who literally take care of every detail of our travel, food, lodging, etc.
  • 65% ($21,147) World Racer Budget
    See below for further breakdown

And here’s how that big 65% “World Racer” budget breaks down:

  • 45% ($9,516) Intercontinental travel
  • 13% ($2,749) Food
  • 19% ($4,017) Lodging
  • 11% ($2,326) Transportation
  • 12% ($2,537) Long Distance Travel and Misc. Supplies

We also need to raise additional support for other expenses not covered in the $32,534 such transportation to and from a week-long training camp, storage for our belongings for a year, vaccinations, and gear we’ll need (a tent, backpacks, sleeping bags, etc.). We estimate we’ll need at least $4,000 to cover these additional costs.

To those of you who have given, we can’t thank you enough! If you would like to support us financially, you can do so through our Pick A Number fundraiser! Should you rather donate directly to Adventures in Missions you can do so here.
