I’ve been helping usher God’s presence into the room this week through worship for training camp.  I say ‘help’ instead of ‘lead’ because I’m not a fan of leading worship.  It’s an area that the Lord has been working on in me throughout this past year.

I’m not a worship leader – I’m a worshipper.

The most powerful times of worship are when I just worship.  I’m first a worshipper and whatever’s next follows.  As soon as I try to take control and put the Spirit on a leash, everything seems to fall apart.  Once the Holy Spirit’s in the room I need to back off – it’s a lesson I’m still learning.

I think this applies to other areas of our lives as well.  As soon as we forget who we are in the things that we do, those things tend to crumble.  The moment we try to take control out of God’s hands, madness ensues.

So know who you are before you do the things you do.

And that’s all I wanted to share today.
