I’m trying really hard to survive.  If you couldn’t tell this week, I’ve been making a big push to raise money to reach my support goal for 2010.  I’ve been a part of this ministry with the World Race and Adventures In Missions for an entire year now and it’s been one of the most challenging and one of the most fruitful years of my life!  My time on the mission field overseas last year was probably one of the most life-transforming years, but 2009 has been a close second.  Working on the mission field and being state-based while living in community will wreck you.  But it’s a good wrecking.

 

The thing about working with AIM is that when coming on staff, you know that you’re going to be responsible for raising finances to pay for your job.  Sounds like a horrible catch, but it’s really a good one.  In the midst of it, I’m given the opportunity to give other people a chance to be involved in this ministry.  Is that awesome?  I think so.  I believe in it that much!

 

I’m looking for people to partner with me in prayer.  At least once a month you’ll receive an email from me with prayer requests.  It might be for things in and over my life, it might be for some of my trips overseas, it might be for missionaries on the field, and it’ll definitely be for the ministry that I’m a part of.  But by being a prayer partner, you’re basically committing to praying for me on a regular basis throughout 2010.  How do you sign up?  You shoot an email to me ([email protected]) and let me know that you want to be a prayer partner!  My goal is to have at least 25 prayer partners.  Right now I have six signed up.  Interested?  Shoot me an email.

 

I’m also looking for people to partner with me financially.  Financial partners can make a one-time gift or pledge to make a monthly donation (in any amount) for 2010.  My support goal for this coming year is $20,000.  The fact that I’ve figured out how to live on $20,000 is an absolute miracle, but I’m counting on you partnering with me to help me get there.  So how do you sign up?  Send me an email ([email protected]) and let me know that you would like to be a financial partner and how much you would like to pledge.  Again, my goal is $20,000.  Right now I have $50 in my account and about another $500 pledged.  Only $19,450 to go!  And just to give you a heads up, all financial donations are tax-deductible. 

 

Is this the only way that you can join me in ministry?  No, it’s not.  I’m hoping that there will be some opportunities in this coming year to meet up with more of you one-on-one (which is why part of that $20,000 is for travel purposes).  I’m also dreaming a little big and will be seeking help for a project I’m hoping to start later this coming year.  Stay tuned for more info.!
