Scott Harrison is challenging the Church to raise $2 billion in one day.  That’s a dream.  In raising $2 billion in one day, Scott’s organization Charity: Water  would be able to eradicate 10% of the global water problem.  You know, people without access to clean drinking water?  Yeah, they would get access to clean drinking water.

Sometimes after hearing something like that I sit back and think that I’m a jerk.  I don’t think of things like that.  Well, I do think of things like that but then I allow the student loans and monthly bills to win the death-match that we have each month.  And when I’m laying on the floor after having my wallet raided and trying to recover, I wish that I had fought harder.

Thing is: a dream like Scott Harrison’s is a complete reality.  He’s already raised over $10 million dollars and solved epic water issues in Uganda and Kenya.  He’s moving onto some other countries now.  I think his real dream is to tackle the entire continent of Africa and then move onto another continent, abolish water problems there, and then move on again.

You can watch this video below.  After watching the video, scroll down and learn about how to give some cool Christmas gifts through his organization.

I’ve been on the prowl for Christmas presents that aren’t just about people getting stuff, but more about things being given in the process.  Here’s a link to Charity: Water and their gift page.  For example, you can buy a bracelet for $24 that will supply someone with clean drinking water for 20 years.  Two decades.  Or, if you would rather, you could buy a gift card for $40 on up.  OR spend $80, multiply your impact, and “get more” to give somebody.  Makes sense?  There’s a lot of options.  Check them out here.

Let’s support this guy’s dream.  I’ve never met Scott Harrison, but I think I would like to.  Men like him are an inspiration to people like me who have similar dreams.  It gives me hope that they can be birthed into a reality.

In the meantime, I’m trying to raise support for 2010 so that I can continue in the ministry I’m a part of.  So far I’ve got six prayer partners and three financial partners.  If you’d be interested in partnering with me in my ministry, send me an email here and let me know whether you want to be a prayer partner, financial partner, or both.  If you’re willing to be a financial partner, please let me know how much you’d be willing to donate whether one time or monthly.  It will help me in figuring out how well we’re doing in reaching my support goal.  Thanks!
