I think that injustice is a buzzword within our culture
these days. People that have
amazing ministries geared towards fighting it, like Shane Claiborne, and they
help drive it… like ‘drive’ the buzzword.
I’m not negating the plows that people like Shane Claiborne
put their hands to. I love what
they’re doing. Unfortunately
because ‘injustice’ has become a buzzword in our culture, it’s also become a
trend… a trend within the church.
Our generation likes to wear trends the same way it wears
t-shirts: only when they’re in style.
I was reading Isaiah this morning and it says in there that
GOD LOVES JUSTICE. This word has
appeared in front of my face frequently in the last 24 hours. I wondered if God was trying to tell me
something, so I asked.
you want me to go into law?”
“No,” he replied.
“That’s not the kind of injustice I want you to fight,
Matthew. There’s another kind of
injustice I’m enabling you to do something about.”
“And what’s that?” I asked.
“The injustice of silence.”
And so I’ve been mulling that phrase in my head throughout
today.
The injustice of silence.
Who am I being enabled to be a voice for? I wonder.
