It can leave a really heavy feeling. In fact, when you walk in the room your shoulders immediately become weighed down with a burden you had no intent of bearing. Your mind can be blown away at the staggering numbers and your heart will probably crack and remain broken. It happens all of the time…

It happened yesterday.

The thing about sharing stuff on human trafficking is that it’s a weighty topic. I struggle with it (if I was going to be honest). I know it’s a huge topic. I know that it’s heavy. I know that the problem’s bigger than we can solve by ourselves. Yes, I know that abolishing bondage for over 27.1 million people in the next 50 years seems impossible. But aren’t we told that with faith all things are possible?

I see it happen a lot. People get wrecked for so many issues, whether it be human trafficking, AIDS orphans, or more. They cry, they shake and they’re are moved uncontrollably. Their hearts break.

But do their hands move?

There’s something out there that’s always going to tick me off, and it’s when Christians – of all people – let their hearts break for something but neglect to move. Instead, they sit around and talk about how torn up they are over an issue.

Two weeks go by, and the still talk about what happened two weeks ago…
One month goes by and they still reminisce on the ‘old stories’…
Three months later… same thing.

The whole idea is that they’re stationary.

Get off your butt.

What’s the use in having a broken heart if you’re never going to seek redemption for the thing you’re broken for?

There’s a reason that God moves us in certain ways. If you experience a piece of His heart, then please… for the love of God… make sure your hands move!

I say all of this because I’ve seen too many people in the last three days who have been broken for human trafficking weeks ago… and they’re still talking about doing something. Take some initiative. Educate others. Get involved with an organization doing something.

Just please. Don’t sit there with a broken heart.

C’mon Church!
