“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What
is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing
greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost
all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ
and
be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from
the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness
that comes from God and is by faith.
I
want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the
fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his
death,
and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
~Phil. 3.7-11~

You MUST read this blog that my friend Kim wrote.  I think that there has been a lot of confusion as to what she meant by what she wrote.  So I wanted to take a minute and ‘clear the air’.  This is for all of my blog readers and hers.  Here we go.  This is what she meant:

  • Christ is better than her family.
  • Christ is better than her future, and all the people and plans that come with it.
  • Christ is better than her best friends.
  • Christ is better than financial stability.
  • Christ is better than her reputation, her comfort, her ideals, her past…

And I feel the same way.

  • Christ is better than my family.
  • Christ is better than my future, and all the people and plans that come with it.
  • Christ is better than my best friends.
  • Christ is better than financial stability.
  • Christ is better than my reputation, my comfort, my ideals, my past…

This is it: Christ is better than anything.  There’s a reason that we should count ‘all things loss compared to knowing Christ Jesus our Lord’!  Loving the Lord and following Him is not for the faint of heart!  It is challenging.  No one said that love would ever be easy, especially loving God… and better yet, being loved in return.

How bad do you want Him?
