*insert wild applause from audience*
Going back to Church. That’s right – I was a heathen and didn’t go to church on the last Sunday because I was actually gathered around an oblong ‘round table’ with a group of amazing people, shredding the World Race program to pieces. Thankfully this Sunday I was able to exercise my Christian rights in America and go to a Sunday service. It was great – very entertaining. Mark and Tracee (pastor – pastor’s wife) tag-teamed the sermon. I laughed a lot.
No more sickness. It’s strange to think that this is a highlight from the week, but I wasn’t sick at all this week! Praise the Lord with me… *insert HALLELUJAH cheer*
Look at them ther’ muscles! Well – I finally bit the bullet and got a gym membership so that I could be like everyone else in the house. I was literally the only person here without a membership to this gym. So far it’s been the wisest investment that I’ve made in the last several weeks. I’ve been there twice already, every day since I’ve gotten it. I’m running again and now I’m lifting weights with my roommate, Jake. And we’ve negated our workouts both nights by coming home and pigging out. Hey – I’m trying to gain 15 pounds…
I got more supporters. Every time that one of us in the house gets more supporters to walk alongside of them throughout the ministry, we get REALLY excited for each other. Well – I’ve yet to share it with my house, but I just got two new monthly supporters! PRAISE THE LORD!!
I wore sandals in Port Huron. There was just one day that I was able to wear sandals – and I did. It made my heart hunger for that delectable Kansan spring weather I miss, but alas, after the snow blew through I was violently reminded by “mother nature” that I’m still living in Michigan. We’re expecting 6-8 inches through tomorrow. *grumbles*
Community night. Every Thursday night we have community night where we’re really intentional about sitting down, having a meal together as a ‘family’, and talking about stuff. Last night was just incredible. We talked for a million hours and ended it in communion and prayer. It was fantastic. And I’m pretty sure I love this guy and his wife. (And she is an AMAZING cook…)
Ministry. What kind of update would this be if I didn’t tell you about how the ministry is going? Well – it’s going great. Aside from figuring out some new marketing strategies, we’ve been interviewing a lot of people for the Races this year. I’ve been taking phone calls from many Racers who have just been accepted with tons of questions, and also working on some materials for training camp. The squads in the field are doing great. The October 08 squad’s men are spending a week with the Masaai tribe and killing lions with their bare hands….
Alright – that’s all I have for this week. I actually think I’m going to blog over the weekend this time. Check it out when they come…
