I might have done something bad.  I didn’t write an update last week, which means that some people could potentially be angry with me.  To make it up to the angry ones, I decided to write an update this week – nothing too special.

Weekly Highlights

American Idol.  I can’t believe that I’m acknowledging this as a highlight of the week, but I just wanted to give a shout-out to Alexis who got kicked off of American Idol on Wednesday night.  I think it’s probably for the best because… well… I wasn’t a big fan of her anyway.  I will say this much: Adam Lambert creeped me out with that “Ring of Fire” song.  Like… really creeped me out.

Jimmy McCarty.  It’s always a joy when we get to see people from the office down in Gainesville, Georgia.  On Tuesday Jimmy McCarty flew into Michigan and has been spending a few days with us.  It’s pretty cool.  We’ve had a great time with him.  He leaves today though… and then I’m flying down there tomorrow.  Funny how that works.

Madeleine Peyroux.  It’s okay, I could pronounce her name the first time either.  And, no, she’s not my new girlfriend.  She’s an amazing musician that my sister introduced me to – introduced to me by purchasing the CD for me (thanks, Jess).  If you’re a fan of Ella Fitzgerald, you might like this girl.  And if I’m wrong, then I’ll let you blame me for a bad recommendation.

Caffeine.  For the past several months I’ve been using a tiny coffee pot that was given to our house to drink coffee in the mornings.  The problem?  It only makes two cups, so I would have to brew like three different pots in the morning and it just got tiring.  So… when I was at Wal-Mart a few days ago I bought a $15 coffee maker that brews 12-cups of coffee at a time.  Let’s just say… it saves me a lot of trouble in the mornings : )

NCAA Tournament.  It’s that time of year again for March Madness!  Whoo hoo.  As a result we have all filled out a bracket in the house, maybe alongside $5 *coughs* and are initiating a friendly spirit of competition amongst us.  The good times began yesterday as the first round of games began.  Unfortunately the Michigan game sucked.  I felt like I was watching high school basketball again, but they won nonetheless.  And too bad for them because it’s the only game I had them winning.  No worries Kansas fans – I have KU going to the Final Four… like they always do.

Training Camp.  That’s right – training camp.  I fly down to Georgia tomorrow with my dear friend, Andrea Wendel.  We have several days of marketing meetings followed by STM training, followed by helping run a training camp for the June 2009 World Race squad.  Essentially I’m going to be in the south for roughly three weeks.  Maybe I’ll come back with an accent…

That’s all for this week.  Stay tuned for other things.
