It’s been a few weeks… but here’s my Friday Week-end Update. Do enjoy!
A Weekend in Guatemala. I’ve been posting blogs all week on my weekend in Guatemala. When people ask me what I did this past weekend, I say, “I went to Guatemala.” They usually respond with a look of astonishment and I respond to THAT with gratitude. Not everybody can say that…
Toilet overflowing. This morning as I was sitting down to blog and have our weekly marketing team meeting, my roommate Jake ran into the room saying with calm, “we need you’re help, Matt.” I immediately told him that I was waiting quite anxiously for my meeting, but he then said, “our bathroom floor’s flooded and is leaking into the basement.” Every man in the house responded in haste.
More family. One of the things that we’ve come to terms with here in Michigan is that we’re eventually going to have more than five people living in the house. This weekend we have a bunch of others up to visit… about four others. It’s a good preparation into what life will most likely be like three months from now. We’re playing a cool shuffle game with cars in the driveway, learning how to share the washer and dryer… it’s just a whole new form of living.
Man night on the boat. My brother [in Christ], Mark, is living with us this month. He happened to bring his boat with him. The result? Last night we had “man night” on the boat. We hit the St. Clair River, boated into St. Clair, had dinner where we made the waitress play the guessing game with our ages, and then boated back. It was good.
Learning from a pro. Some of you might know that I’ve had this desire to be really good at photography for quite some time. Thankfully, there’s a really good photographer at our church who is teaching us the ways of the wise. Wednesday night was our first lesson. I hope to learn more soon.
