It’s that time of week again where I wrap things up and give you the low-down on the random happenings of my life.  It’s my favorite part of the week because that means it’s Friday.  Fridays mean weekends.  Weekends mean sleeping in.  Sleeping in means energy.  Energy means parties.  Parties mean… well… you get the idea.

We actually don’t party that much.  Apparently there are people here in Port Huron who think we do Bible studies and pray all of the time.  They’ve clearly never been to the World Race Manor.  We do that on Mondays…

But without further delay, here’s what you’ve been waiting for:

24.  Remember last year when I gave commentary on American Idol?  Yeah, I just don’t watch that show this season.  I watched it last week but I couldn’t get into it this time around.  I know it’s probably the most watched show on television but I don’t care.  The drama and intentionality of keeping bad singers on it – that just turned me off.  But Jack Bauer… oh Jack Bauer… how he never gets old.  He is probably one of the most dreamy men alive.  I knew that this week he was going to get out of that hostage situation.  I knew it.  I knew that he was going to kill somebody.  Someone dies in almost every episode.  And the blonde chick?  What is her deal?!?!  Why can she not seem to get away from that one guy?  Is she really that lame?  Ugh…

Jacob Hoyer.  I know, I know.  Why do I have another man as a weekly highlight?  Because this guy is awesome.  Jake was on the October 2008 World Race squad and moved into the WR Manor a few weeks ago.  I’ve been getting to know him and he’s probably one of the coolest guys around.  Seriously.  We’ve spent a lot of time together this week.  He can joke around, we can laugh together, we do manly things together (like Taco Tuesday) and it’s just cute.  Haha.  I said “cute”.  Anyway, this man is solid though.  He’s got a great big heart for the Lord, he’s definitely someone that God has gifted to open his mouth and share HEAVEN with people.  He’s awesome.  And, sorry ladies, but he’s taken…

Canadian Washington Staters.  This past weekend my friend from the World Race, Rubie, and her roommate Melissa, and my Canadian friend, Laura, came over to Michigan to visit us.  Apparently in the real world, it was a three-day weekend because of Presidents Day on Monday.  So they all had an extended weekend (except for Laura, she’s Canadian and they don’t celebrate our dead presidents).  Anyway, we had a great time.  I wish that I had been more hospitable.  I need to marry someone that’s hospitable.  Most women are, right?  I mean, I know nothing about laying out towels and blankets.  I just don’t think of things like that…

Nashville.  Guess what?  I’m going to Nashville.  That’s right.  I’m excited about it too.  No, I’m not going to go record anything in some fancy studio like my friend Chris Telfer.  I’m going to help my friend/boss/coworker, Jeff, lead a short-term mission trip with AIM.  Yep.  That’s right.  We’re going to be doing some homeless ministry and leading college students in their first-ever mission trip.  Cool?  I think so.  It’s going to give me some good face-time with Jeff, which is great because he’s a fantastic guy (married ladies, sorry) and I’ll even get to lead some musical expressions of worship.  It’s going to be one heck of a party in Nash’Vegas… come March.

Help Give Anne Jackson a Happy Birthday!  Fellow blogger in the blog-o-sphere, Anne Jackson, has her 30th birthday today.  What is her birthday wish you ask?  To raise $5000 for Blood:Water Mission through this crazy thing she’s doing called the Ride:Well Tour.  It’s where she bikes across the United States… 3,100 miles…yeah… hardcore.  So, let’s help give Anne her birthday wish.  I’m donating.  So should you.  And you could get a free book.  Learn more here.

What do you all think about my Friday updates?  Like them?  Hate them?  Think they’re ridiculous?  What would you like to see different?  Give me some feedback.
