Here we go:
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’s right folks – it’s finally Christmastime! I can officially say that because we’re into the month of December now and there’s only 21 days left until Christmas. I can’t lie, but this is probably my most favorite season of all. (Notice how I’m playing on the lyrics of that song). Wednesday night we had our house Christmas party. Jake and Kelly went out and bought a tree on Tuesday night, I strung the lights, and then we decorated the rest of the house on Wednesday. We made desserts and watched the lighting of the tree in NYC on television and then… we went to bed. It was so much fun though! Enjoy the pictures at the end of the post.
24. I think that I watch Fox a lot, mainly because “House” and “Lie to Me,” two of my favorite shows on television, are on that station. Now before you brand me and get on my case for watching T.V. and not saving the world, I want to remind you that I am superman, but that I’m also human. I have to engage myself in some brainless activities. A few hours of television each week is one of them. But all of this to say, in my watching of “House” and “Lie to Me” in the past week, I’ve noticed a lot of teaser commercials for the new season of “24” that starts in January. Needless to say, I’m beyond thrilled that Jack Bauer will be back saving the day… even though he’s in a coma. And, why yes, my commentary on “24” and “American Idol” will return this spring : )
Patrice Deaton. I went on the World Race last year (in case you didn’t gather that from recent blogs). I built relationships that will last a lifetime. One of those is with a mighty woman of God named Patrice Deaton. And, well, Patrice is here in Port Huron visiting us for the next week and a half! She’s a rock in my life and I am beyond thrilled that she is here to hang with us! It’s like one of the best family reunions ever. She just got back from squad-leading a World Race team that’s in Africa right now. She’s awesome. I love her tons. And she’s fun. Full of life. Yay for Patrice!
What will you pledge? So I’ve been posting blogs all week long trying to raise my support for next year. Yesterday alone, I got $3,278 pledged for 2010. That’s such a blessing from God! My goal is $20,000 for 2010. If you’d be interested in pledging some money so that I can continue with this ministry, you can do so by submitting it here or by sending me and email ([email protected]) and letting me know that you would like to be a financial partner. I’m also looking for a team of at least 25 prayer partners. Right now I have ten. If you would like to be one, contact me and let me know that you would like to be a prayer partner for 2010. But praise God that we raised $3,278 in one day!
PoHo Family Christmas 2009. We had our first ever PoHo Christmas party during community dinner time last night at Rusty and Ericka’s house. We had white chili (that Ericka made ever-so-deliciously), an ornament swap, great prayer time, good laughs, and a birthday cake for baby Jesus (that Ericka also made ever-so-deliciously). It was awesome and we will surely do it again (in another year, probably)! My favorite part? The fact that I got a random ornament during the swap.
