Hello from South Africa! Life here is beyond amazing and God is doing so much all throughout this country but especially in Capetown where I have been living for the past three weeks. I have had the privilege of living in a house with the most amazing host family. The are absolutely incredible and are all about serving the Lord. I also have had the privilege of living with 21 of my fellow teammates and squad leaders all in one house. This experience has taught me a lot about many different things. Finding quiet time to gather my thoughts and talk to God can sometime’s seem impossible, but this is great practice for what life is going to look like back home.

We have been beyond blessed to run a summer camp for kids in a gang infested neighbourhood called Cafda. These children taught me more about life than I could ever teach them. They LIVE in a neighbourhood that experiences gun shots, murders, and a huge gang war everyday, but they are still filled with the most joy I have ever seen. Where God really showed up for me the most was during one of the camp days I saw a young men and teenagers playing soccer across the street. Me and one of my squamates Parker walked across and asked if we could play with them. The next two hours where unbelievable. We quickly bonded with everyone around us and earned the right to be heard. We got the privilege of talking to this group of people for over an hour. There was one man named Rashiden who was 28 years old and Parker and I watched as he sold drugs to all the teenagers. Me and Parker then challenged Rashiden to a soccer game two on two. After the game, we had a great conversation. Rashiden left and we walked back over to the camp and our ministry contact informed us that we had just played a soccer game and conversed with one of the biggest drug dealers in all of Cafda. Please pray for Rashiden and the whole town of Cafda.

After a great Christmas, we started a new form of ministry.Train ministry. This is beyond exciting and such an amazing way to spread the name of Jesus Christ. Our contact started out helping us out with getting use to what a train service looks like and then slowly gave us the ropes, and before we knew it we are now preaching and leading worship on a train in front of around 60-80 people on average. We ride the train all the way into downtown and lead services the whole way. Then, once we arrive we walk to a market area where a ton of different people reside. We pick up right where we left off on the train, preaching and leading worship. We get the opportunity to pray and meet a lot of amazing people throughout the week. God is showing up big time and teaching us so much. It is an absolute honour to get to preach the Gospel and pray and hear the stories of so many people who desperately need and want Jesus as the center of their life. The things that God is doing in this Country are mind blowing and I can’t believe I get to be a part of them.
The 12 men of our squad are about to head off to the country of Lesotho for the month of January! We will be helping build an orphanage/school and working with a church in the small village of Mokhotlong! Stay tuned for a blog of what God is doing in Lesotho! God bless and thank you for following me on this journey!
