And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the  men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here…   Luke 23:5-6

So this week, David and I got to go back to Jerusalem and see the Garden tomb and a few other sites that we missed while we were living in Jerusalem. The Garden tomb is where many evangelical Christians believe that Jesus was buried.

It quickly became one of our favorite sites. As soon as we walked in, we instantly felt like we were sure that this was the site where Jesus was buried. There is a beautiful garden that has been preserved around the tomb were Jesus body was buried, and there was just an atmosphere of peace and joy that fell over us when we entered the garden (most “Jesus” sites are all gaudy and overdone thanks to the “preservation” that the church has accomplished; the garden tomb is different).

Our tour guide was a british volunteer with a lovely british accent, who was well educated about the archeological significance of the tomb. And it was so brilliant because he basically told us the gospel in the way he explained the facts behind why it is most likely that Jesus was buried THERE. He always brought his comments to a close by saying “but the most important thing is not whether or not Jesus died here, but that he died and then rose from the dead.”

I was stoked.

And we got to worship! Like a couple of times before, we worshipped God as we sang with some students from BYU. Such Joy, such peace!

It is interesting to look back at Luke 23 because it holds a great question: “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”

It is easy for me to fall back into a mindset that is focused on the material and physical nature of life. However, Jesus is not dead. He is alive!! and he lives in us! The kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom and we live by faith in the power of God working in and thru us by His spirit.

Let us be reminded today that Jesus Christ is ALIVE, and he lives in us. And “Greater is he who is in you than is in the world.”

Please continue to pray for me as I continue to raise support. And please share my blog with anyone who you think might be interested.

This week is Christmas! REMEMBER that you are alive, and that God loves you so much! Enjoy your families and live each day, one at a time. It is all that we are promised.

Merry Christmas!
